The Lordcore Tapes series is a collection of raw recordings from improvised scratch sessions, project sketches and live performances by various Skratchlords and their affiliates.

Since 2017, these tapes have been made in batches of 10 and sent out with letters to encourage the recipient to listen to it and pass it on. These recordings are now available as a digital release.

This tape is very special, because it is a recording from the 12th annual Community Skratch Games post-meltdown session in Jimmy Penguin’s basement, aka The Mushroom Kingdom.

Having spent the past few days at the annual CSG event in Galway, Ireland, getting drunk with and battling some of the greatest skratch musicians on the planet, the last humans left standing had one final session together, doing what they do best: destroying records.

Simiah had just played his first CSG gig, opening the event on the saturday evening. on the monday afternoon he stood in the corner of Jimmy’s kitchen wearing headphones and put together a collection of beats on his MPC that would form the basis of this tape.

That night, Simiah and the last conscious Skratchlords recorded a freestyle session over the beats, whilst trying out some new toys that had just arrived in time for the Games.

Skratchlords appearing on the tape include CtlFsh, Redmist, Symatic, Simiah, Ci Nik, Ay Yo Cee, Kodak Lacerator Visualz, Moschops, Joey FDH, Tom Yum, Fooders and Jimmy Penguin.
